Sarah Ann DEVEREUX GARRISON LANDRUM – Alexandria, Louisiana Connection
I have overlapping DNA Matches on both my Mother and Father’s side. I’m researching a theory that I strongly believe my Parents were unknowingly distant cousins. I have a specific family of SPENCER, PATTERSON, BRADLEY, and JULY cousins that appear in both Maternal and Paternal matches that has baffled at the moment, but I’m narrowing it down.
wrote the following notes concerning her family background:
“My father came to Texas in the winter of 1829 or 30 from Marengo, County, Alabama. Came overland to Natchez, Mississippi. Took Boat and came up Red River to Alexandria, Louisiana. The company then left Alexandria on their way into Texas, after a weary journey of weeks. The company consisting of my grandfather Landrum two sons & families and a son in law settled in Austins Colony. My maternal grandfather (Martin Wells) was one of the early settlers of Bastrop.'”
