George FREENEY Jr. is a veteran African American pioneer of the hi-tech
industry. He has architected and been a part of creating many user
experience technologies in the streaming and e-commerce industries
starting in the late 90s until he retired in 2014 and returned to school
to pursue his childhood passion for photography.
George FREENEY Jr. is an accomplished African American Photojournalist
based in Auburn, Alabama. He uses his technical background and creative
skills to bring a unique perspective to his work. Through his Black
Book: Projects, George researches and repairs African American
genealogies while capturing and sharing stories through his “Black
STORIES Matter” project. He leverages cutting-edge technologies like AI
and Augmented Reality to create immersive storytelling experiences that
engage and educate viewers. Sharing the stories of underrepresented
African American communities makes his work important in today’s social
climate.
