Auburn, AL Photographer Participates in 150 Day International Outdoor Photography Festival and Youth Photography Workshop.

Professional photographer and Auburn resident George Freeney Jr. has been selected to participate in the eighth and ninth editions of the highly acclaimed Eyes on Main Street Outdoor Photo Festival, an international event that showcases the works of 100 photographers from 41 countries on storefront windows, walls, and buildings throughout historic downtown Wilson, North Carolina. The festival, which opened on October 21, 2022, will run for 150 days and include photographs from 99 other photographers from around the world.

Freeney, who is also a photography instructor with the Dianne Daymmer Initiative, will host a Youth Photography Workshop sponsored by Canon, Inc. during the festival. The workshop will provide eight local fifth-grade students from the SPOT Youth Center in Wilson the opportunity to learn from Freeney and professional photographer Peter Fitzpatrick.

“I’m a COVID-surviving photographer and quite humbled to be invited to participate in both the eighth and ninth editions of the Eyes on Main Street Photography Festival,” Freeney said. “Being included with, and meeting some of the most amazing photographers in the world is confirmation that a storm is past. I’m grateful for that alone.”

Freeney’s image, “Ole Town Road” made in his hometown of Amarillo, Texas, will also be featured in an outdoor public exhibition in Etl, Brittany, France, opening June 30, 2023 and running throughout the summer. The 100 photographs of the 8th Edition will be on display in an outdoor festival at  Les Focales de Bretagne Sud in Etel, Brittany, France. It is the first time that all 100 photographs of one of our editions will travel abroad.

Freeney also participated in the ninth edition of the festival in June 2023, in Wilson, North Carolina.
