The Tuskegee Airmen, Tuskegee, ALABAMA
#TuskegeeAirmen were a group of African American pilots who fought in World War II. They were trained at the Tuskegee Army Air Field in Tuskegee, Alabama and became the first black military aviators in the U.S. Armed Forces. Lowell Cleaver was a member of this group.
We honor their legacy and want to share their stories. We encourage anyone with oral stories about any of the Tuskegee Airmen to share and discuss their experiences. We are also researching Lowell Cleaver’s African American Genealogy and welcome any information or discussion related to him.
Their aircrafts were famous for their role in the war, they played a significant role in the US army by providing escort missions, bombing raids, and reconnaissance. They were also known for their exceptional courage and skill, despite facing discrimination and adversity.
