I Share Ancestry with Ramesses III – Haplo E-V38
Zahi Hawass tested the remains of Ramesses III in 2012, the second pharaoh of Egypt’s 20th dynasty. Based on 13 STR markers tested his haplogroup was assigned as E1b1a and 23andMe reports E-V38. The 20th Dynasty of Egypt (1189-1077 BCE) started with Setnakhte and counted nine kings named Ramesses, from III to XI. The pharaohs are buried in the Valley of the Kings.
23andMe DNA Test results report that Ramesses III and I share a common ancestor, and is my relative by definition.
My 23andMe Test results report that my Haplogroup is E-Z6018 that is relatively uncommon being 1 in 5600 of all 23andMe customers, and I share an ancestor with Ramesses III, and I have a First Cousin DNA Match from E-M96 and other very rare African American Haplogroups.
Other African Americans with this Haplogroup are:
Nelson Mandela
